How To Start Doing What You Want To Do
“You can, you should, and if you’re brave enough to start, you will.” Precious words by Stephen King that should be etched in our minds.
As humans, we often suffer from procrastination. Avoiding and pushing away tasks seems to be the easiest way to lead a hassle-free life. But one must also realize that by doing so we are only avoiding and pushing away the dream-life we could be leading if we start doing.
We can all agree on the fact that it is not always easy to get up and get going. Sometimes, our bodies or minds may refuse to cooperate with our inert expectations but rigorous training can help us overcome this situation.
If you make up your mind about not listening to your body’s lethargy, you will observe that in the long run you are leading the life of a winner.
Saying no is a prerequisite to being a world-class personality. Say no to anything that brings you down.
Be it your friend who distracts you from important work, the family member who forces you to act a certain way or your mind which fools you into believing it is tired.
Here are a few interesting hacks to start doing and stop procrastinating:
1. Make A Move
Just convince yourself to take an initiative. Put the first foot forward in faith and you shall see wonders happening.
Wake up and run towards your goals! Do not give up till you are sure that you have done enough. Just getting on the wagon is enough to get your life in motion.
2. The One Minute Rule
According to this rule, if there is a task you are avoiding and it can be done in 1 minute time, you should do it NOW!
Make sure that you don’t stop working in case it takes a minute extra. The idea is to begin because once you start, the work looks way simpler.
3. Manage Your Time
Always bear in mind that your time is the most important thing you can give to something or someone. It is of immense importance how you spend that time.
All of us on this planet work through the same set of 24 hours. So you cannot call someone else lucky for having more time on their hands. They just utilize it better.
Prioritize. Prioritize. Prioritize. Yes, it is that crucial!
4. Stop Thinking, Start Doing
