To be strong and courageous, it’s vital to get to know fear very closely. Only after looking fear in the eyes you do realize that most of it was in your head; and you can achieve anything in your life, only if you dare to leap.

Dare to be strong and courageous, take the road less travelled, and venture anything, that’s the way to go!

10 Ways to Be Strong and Courageous

2. Don’t let natural mishaps stop you from writing your own destiny.

4. Get deeply involved in your ambitions; no scope for distractions.

5. Some relationships work, some don’t! Success always works.

6. Most of the billionaires were average graders in colleges.

7. Greatest disability is the inability to dream big.

8. Your uniqueness is your real treasure.

9. Difficulties come to swing you ashore.

10. Without failures, success becomes far-fetched.

10 Life Lessons To Be Strong and Courageous

1. The Pursuit of Happyness

The C.E.O and founder of Christopher Gardner International Holdings, Chris Gardner, an entrepreneur up on whose life the movie “ The Pursuit of happyness “ was made.

“Others may question your credentials, your papers, your degrees. Others may look for all kinds of ways to diminish your worth. But what is inside you no one can take from you or tarnish. This is your worth, who you really are, your degree that can go with you wherever you go, that you bring with you the moment you come into a room, that can’t be manipulated or shaken. Without that sense of self, no amount of paper, no pedigree, and no credentials can make you legit. No matter what, you have to feel legit inside first.”
- Chris Gardner

In life, you’ll be judged, demeaned, violated — mentally and emotionally, brought down to your knees, betrayed by your confidantes, and your self-esteem will be razed to the ground.

So, what? Do you succumb to the circumstances? No! You get back on your feet with infinite times more strength and courage, and prove your worth to yourself first, and then to the rest of the world.

2. Be Strong and Courageous, Everything will Fall in Line

Everyone has given up on the hope of his survival. His mother was told he was sure to die because of the terrible fire that had ravaged his lower half of the body. Even if he survived, he would be crippled for the rest of his life. Yet, the fate had wonderful things in store for him. All he had to do was ‘be strong and courageous’.

In February 1934, Dr. Glenn Cunningham ran the world’s fastest mile, at the historic Madison Square Garden. This man is a beacon of positivity, and everyone should imbibe his attitude towards life.

“In running it is man against himself, the cruelest of opponents. The other runners are not the real enemies.”
- Dr. Glenn Cunningham

3. Believe in Yourself, Even if No One Does

Brian Acton was a software developer that no one wanted to employ. He was turned down by two of the internet’s most promising startups at the time, Twitter and Facebook, despite twelve years of expertise at Yahoo and Apple Inc.

Later he became the man behind 21 stcentury cloud-messaging miracle application, WhatsApp, which each one of us uses as a lifeline. Brian Acton’s net worth skyrocketed to $19 billion USD after Facebook acquired WhatsApp in 2014.

4. Man vs. Wild, more like Fear vs. Courage

He was gravely injured in a free-fall parachuting accident in Zambia in 1996. At 16,000 feet, his canopy ripped, causing him to fall and land on his back on his parachute pack, partly crushing his three vertebrae.

Just 18 months after the accident, he became one of the the youngest climbers to reach the summit of Mount Everest, at the age of 23.

This is the incredible Bear Grylls’ inspiring story. He is well-known around the world as a Discovery Channel television host with his own show, Man vs. Wild.

5. Strength and Courageousness Personified

J.K. Rowling, the name that needs no introduction. Today, the bestselling author in United Kingdom was officially declared poor in her struggling days. She was diagnosed with serious depression and attempted suicide at one point in her life. Her marriage had ended in divorce, and she was then jobless with a child. She applied for government assistance because she couldn’t sustain herself and her kid.

If people who have been bent-down by life to such extent can bounce back at it, why can’t you! Most probably, you haven’t even seen half the struggles in your life in comparison to hers, and anything that’s stopping you from being the best version of yourself is a mere excuse at this point.

6. Steven Spielberg: A Move-making Magnet

Steven Spielberg is a well-known film director who is recognized for films such as Jaws, Jurassic Park, Schindler’s List, Catch Me If You Can, and others.

Over the course of four decades, he has directed 27 films and won three Academy Awards, including two for Best Director. According to reports, Spielberg’s films have grossed more than $8.5 billion worldwide. His personal wealth is estimated to be over $3 billion.

But the grass wasn’t always green on his side. He’s the same person whose dream was to study film at the University of Southern California’s School of Cinematic Arts. He was, however, turned down because of his “C” passing grade. He applied a second time, but was once again rejected. He applied to USC three times in all, but was refused each time. He then applied to California State University, Long Beach, and was accepted. He majored in English there.

The refusal to accept failures is success in itself. If it worked for him, it’ll work for you too, just be strong and courageous, while you’re knocking on your opportunity’s door.

When he was at his prime, Sandeep Singh Bhinder was believed to have the fastest drag flick @ 145 km/h. Singh was critically injured on August 22, 2006, when he was hit by a stray bullet in Shatabdi train on his way to join the national team, which was supposed to leave for the World Cup in Germany two days later. For the first two years of his existence, he was nearly crippled and confined to a wheelchair.

Upon recovery and re-entry in the Indian hockey team as the captain, Sandeep’s team won the Sultan Azlan Shah Cup in 2009, defeating Malaysia in the finals in Ipoh. After a 13-year wait, India finally won the title. Singh was also the tournament’s leading goal scorer.

Before become a legend, Walt Disney struggled even to earn enough money to live on. He was rejected by numerous companies, and was told that “he lacked imagination and had no good ideas”. Even after running a successful studio he went bankrupt because he had to pay hefty salaries to his employees.

He didn’t let a run of setbacks get to him, and he persevered even in the face of adversity. There isn’t a single individual who hasn’t heard of Disney or who hasn’t seen a Disney movie.

“All our dreams come true if we have the courage to pursue them.”
— Walt Disney

9. Even a Blizzard Can’t Stop You

With the help of prosthetic legs, Herr managed to climb at more challenging levels, and with the strength and courage to achieve the goal, he performed far better than able-bodied humans.

Your only enemy is the fear within you that tells you that you can’t achieve something. Overcome your fears, and your goals will fall before you.

10. From “Small b” to “Big B”

Once known as “the one-man industry” had to see tough days in his career as well. There was a point when a string of his movies failed at the box office, and his production firm plummeted a few years later, eventually leading to its financial and operational failure in 1997.

He quickly rebounded, and even now, he is regarded as one of the most influential, bankable, and respected celebrities on the planet. This individual is none other than the legendary Amitabh Bachchan.

In Conclusion, Be Strong and Courageous…

Strength and courage has no match. Success doesn’t necessarily mean that the whole world will recognize your doings, it’s all about being the best of yourself, and doing the best you can.

It’s to ignore all the negativity that comes in-built in our society and focus of what’s positive. Build a positive life for yourself, and for the people involved in your life, you’re a successful person already.
